Prevention of trafficking in human beings

Zagreb Red Cross has joined the program of Prevention of Trafficking in Human Beings, which is implemented within the framework of Civic Education and has been approved by the Agency for Education.

The aim of the workshop is to familiarize children and young people with the concept and process of trafficking in human beings, ways of combating trafficking in human beings, institutions and organizations that they can address in case of suspected possible trafficking in human beings and to make them aware of the concept of trafficking and the frequency of this phenomenon. Education seeks to alert children and young people to the dangers of trafficking, most notably themselves as potential victims, and reduce the number of (potential) victims of trafficking.
The program is implemented in the form of workshops for 45 minutes. The workshops are designed for kindergarten children, second and seventh grade elementary school students, and third year high school students. For its implementation, publications, books and articles related to trafficking in human beings, audio-visual means (films, videos, presentations), role-playing drama workshops are used, and for the youngest a social play, a picture book and a coloring book featuring the character Milica Milica.
